János Takács

János Takács started his career with G.E. Lighting in Budapest, Hungary. He served as CFO for IBM Hungary and for SAB Hungary. Between 1997 and 2014 he was the CEO of Electrolux Hungary and Managing Director of Electrolux Central Eastern Europe. Currently he is serving as CEO of Zaharul Oradea S.A., the second largest sugar producer in Romania, owned by the Pfeifer & Langen Group of Germany.

In addition to the above he holds several social positions. He is the President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary, Honorary Chairman of the Scientific Society of Mechanical Engineering in Hungary. Between 2008 and 2011 he chaired the Economic Council at University of Miskolc, and from 2006 to 2009 the Hungarian European Business Council. 

János Takács is a founding member of the Advisory Committee of EOQ Hungarian National Committee (HNC). Currently he is the Vice President of the EOQ HNC. In June 2011 he was elected to the rank of Academician in the International Academy for Quality (IAQ).

In 2005 János Takács was awarded with the "Manager of the Year" title by the National Association of Managers, and was presented with the Officer Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic. In 2006 he became Honorary Citizen of the town of Jászberény, and in 2009 Honorary Citizen of the University of Miskolc. In 2010 the King of Sweden, His Majesty Karl XVI Gustav, awarded János Takács with the Royal Order of the Polar Star, Commander Rank.
